Dr. Suhair Sanad Al-Muhandi is a distinguished Bahraini figure who has seamlessly combined academic leadership, media excellence, and active community engagement, making her an exceptional role model in the academic, media, and legal spheres across the Gulf and Arab region.

Academic and Intellectual Career:

Dr. Al-Muhandi currently serves as an Academic Professor at Sheikh Abdullah Bin Khalid College for Islamic and Judicial Studies. Throughout her career, she has taught and supervised research at several Bahraini and Gulf universities, contributing to the development of educational programs. She holds a PhD with First-Class Honors in Educational Studies and Psychology, alongside master’s degrees in Criminal Sciences (focused on AI-related crimes), Law, Media, Public Relations, and Sports.

Media Leadership and Community Voice:

Dr. Al-Muhandi gained recognition as the first Gulf news correspondent and has presented widely acclaimed radio and television programs, including the decade-long scientific-cultural program “Athrohat” on Bahrain Radio.

She founded media clubs in schools and trained generations of students in media, law, and sports fields. She currently contributes weekly opinion articles to Al-Watan newspaper and has previously written for Akhbar Al-Khaleej and other local publications, addressing national and humanitarian issues with a scientific, analytical, and logical approach.

Legal and Human Rights Contributions:

Her contributions extend beyond media and academia to the legal and human rights arenas. She has served as an accredited international arbitrator in maritime disputes and presented specialized papers at Arab and international conferences on topics including cybersecurity, AI crimes, and the societal responsibility of modern technologies. She is also active in human rights and criminal law training.

Social and Sports Engagement:

Dr. Al-Muhandi is also a renowned figure in sports, having served as a coach and certified referee in athletics and various team and individual sports over many years. She has contributed to scouting and sports initiatives in Bahrain and holds memberships in numerous Arab and Bahraini associations spanning sports, scouting, social, cultural, literary, legal, and media organizations.

Future Initiatives and Projects:

Driven by her belief in the power of knowledge for societal development, Dr. Al-Muhandi is working on several upcoming research projects and publications, including:

  • A book on AI-related crimes and human rights.
  • An autobiographical work “From Determination to Achievement: Between the Rod and the Pen”.

Dr. Al-Muhandi has received numerous accolades, including:

  • Named in 2025 among the Top 100 Influential Figures in Academia by the Shabab Times Platform, recognizing her educational and research contributions.
  • Awarded Best Female Personality in the Arab World (2024) by the International Organization for Volunteer Work.

Vision:

Dr. Al-Muhandi’s vision centers on investing in thought and knowledge to serve humanity and society. She is currently preparing new publications in AI from a legal perspective, AI and media, and is developing a global scientific platform to promote Bahraini research internationally. She serves as an Advisory Media Consultant for the Arab Digital Empowerment Union and represents Bahrain in the Arab Union for the Eye Game.
