The Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) commended the great success of the national cyber drill "Cyber Shield 2025" organised by the National Cyber Security Centre under the theme "Supply Chain Attacks" in the presence of Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander and Secretary-General of the Supreme Defence Council.
The Board confirmed that the exercise reflected the advanced expertise of Bahraini professionals in dealing with evolving cyber threats. It also demonstrated fruitful cooperation between various government entities and vital and private sectors, enhancing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s position in protecting cyberspace.
The Board welcomed HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad’s directive to hold the exercise annually, considering it a leading national platform to boost cooperation, exchange expertise, and develop capabilities in line with rapid cybersecurity advancements.
The Board expressed pride in BIPD being honoured for its win in the education sector, emphasising that this achievement reflects the institute’s commitment to supporting national development and raising political and knowledge awareness. This contributes to building a generation aware of cybersecurity issues and the importance of protecting national gains.
The Board regarded the institute’s recognition alongside leading national institutions as reflecting Bahrain’s model of cross-sector collaboration. It underlined that protecting cyberspace is a shared responsibility requiring joint efforts from official and community sectors alike.
