In the presence of Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander and Secretary-General of the Supreme Defence Council, the National Cyber Security Centre concluded the national cyber drill "Cyber Shield 2025", held under the theme "Supply Chain Attacks" with wide participation from various government agencies and vital and private sectors.
The conclusion of the drill was attended by a number of ministers and senior officials.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad confirmed that the success of the drill enhances Bahrain's high level of national readiness to protect cyberspace and reflects the ability of Bahraini competencies to deal with evolving threats.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad said that the Kingdom of Bahrain continues to strengthen its advanced digital infrastructure in line with the highest international standards, thereby protecting cybersecurity in the country.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad added that the drill was an important milestone for cooperation and exchange of experiences between various institutions, and helped increase the level of national coordination, which strengthens the Kingdom of Bahrain's position in countering cyberattacks.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad directed the National Cyber Security Centre to hold the drill annually, due to its role in continuing progress and prosperity in the field of cybersecurity.
Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the CEO of the National Cyber Security Centre, delivered a speech in which he expressed his gratitude and appreciation to HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad for supporting the drill, noting that this support contributed significantly and directly to its success and achieving its objectives.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad honoured a number of entities, participants and a group of national talents who won the drill. His Highness expressed his appreciation for their outstanding efforts that contributed to the success of the drill and highlighted the honourable image of Bahraini talents.
The winners of the institutional competition were: the telecommunications and transportation sector (STC), the government sector (Bahrain Chamber), the security sector (Ministry of Interior), the energy and industry sector (Bapco Energies), the financial and banking sector (Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait), the education sector (Bahrain Institute for Political Development), and the health sector (Gulf Medical & Diabetes Centre).
In the individual competition the results were as follows: in the telecommunications and transportation sector, the representative of (STC) won, in the government sector, the representative of the Prime Minister’s Office won, in the security sector, the representative of the General Secretariat of the Supreme Defence Council won, in the energy and industry sector, the representative of (Bapco Energies) won, in the financial and banking sector, the representative of (National Bank of Kuwait) won, in the education sector, the representative of Arabian Gulf University won, and in the health sector, the representative of (Bio Lab) won.
