His Highness Lieutenant General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, visited the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom, in the presence of Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom; Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, Deputy National Security Advisor; Shaikh Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Strategic Security Bureau; and Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa, Capital Governor.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad underlined that the strong relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom are based on solid foundations of joint work laid down by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad noted that the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst has contributed to strengthening the Bahrain Defence Force by providing competent officers through an environment conducive to developing their capabilities.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad and the accompanying delegation were received by Major General Nick Cowley, Commandant of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, and senior officers from the Bahrain Defence Force and the Academy.
During the visit, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement in leadership development and initial officer training between Isa Royal Military College and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad said the agreement represents a qualitative step in the development of Bahraini military cadres and reflects Bahrain’s commitment to investing in military competencies by providing an advanced training and educational environment.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad also met with several Bahraini military cadets at the Academy, commending its role in preparing and training its graduates and its approach to leadership and discipline.
