During the official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the Arab Republic of Egypt, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt on youth cooperation and the establishment of the Bahraini-Egyptian Youth Council.  
 
The agreement was signed on behalf of Bahrain by Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and on behalf of Egypt by Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance.
 
Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, highlighted the historical ties between Bahrain and Egypt, noting the shared commitment to expanding avenues for growth and prosperity. She emphasised the progress in bilateral cooperation, reflecting the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El Sisi of Egypt, alongside the continued support of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to strengthen cooperation, particularly in youth affairs.
 
Minister Tawfiqi said that the Ministry continues to implement the policies of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), chaired by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Personal Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, aimed at building strong links between Bahraini youth and their counterparts in other countries, foremost among them Egypt.
 
The council will structure cooperation and strengthen relations between the youth of both countries through a comprehensive framework of programs, activities, and youth policies, while developing initiatives that enhance the role of youth in development. It will also facilitate the exchange of youth delegations, joint international representation, and promote youth diplomacy, support sustainable development partnerships, and build qualified youth models capable of global dialogue, spreading a culture of peace, and enhancing the international image of both countries.
