Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, attended a workshop aimed to develop the National Aviation Strategy to further consolidate the Kingdom of Bahrain’s position as a leading regional hub and a global destination for excellence in aviation.
The workshop was attended by Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, and Sameer Abdulla Nass, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed emphasised that under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Bahrain continues to advance its position in the aviation sector. He noted that the Kingdom builds on a national legacy of more than 75 years, with integrated infrastructure that reflects a vision based on openness and integration with the global economy, enhancing Bahrain’s competitiveness and its position as a leading regional and international hub.
The Transportation Minister underlined that the strategy prioritises aviation safety, aligning with international best practices to ensure regulatory excellence, operational efficiency, and Bahrain’s position as a centre of excellence in commercial aviation. He said that safety and operational professionalism form a strong basis for the sector’s future development.
He added that the strategy sets clear directions to enhance the Kingdom’s role in passenger aviation, business aviation, air cargo, and aircraft maintenance services. He noted that this will support diversification of the aviation system and promote sustainable economic growth.
The strategy reflects Bahrain’s commitment to advancing sustainable development in aviation, supporting innovation, and enhancing global competitiveness, in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the economy and expand international connectivity.
